What role you will play in our team

 

We are currently looking for an experienced Machinery Engineer, to join our high performing and diverse engineering team at Fife Ethylene Plant, situated near the vibrant city of Edinburgh. Our Ethylene Plant at Mossmorran, is one of the largest in the UK & EU, developing and applying next-generation technologies to help safely and responsibly meet the world’s growing needs for energy and high-quality chemical products.

 

What you will do

 

As a Machinery engineer you’re responsible for demonstrating Engineering leadership by providing Technical support to the Process and Maintenance organization in matters related to rotating equipment.

 

The key responsibilities include:

 

  • Rotating equipment monitoring and fleet performance analysis, identifying opportunities to continuously improve process safety and reliability of the plant
  • Providing engineering guidance and recommendations to the Process and Maintenance organizations, based on root cause failure and bad actor analysis, during operational events and standard operations
  • Maintaining technical standards, implementing global best practices and deploying new technology, following a structured change process 
  • Providing engineering support for major capital projects during the design, commissioning and start-up phase
     
About you

 

To be eligible for this role, you should: 

 

  • Hold a Mechanical Engineering degree (or an equivalent subject)
  • Have relevant rotating equipment or machinery engineering experience in an operational environment, e.g. Petrochemical or Utilities industry.
  • Be or willing to work towards being a Chartered Engineer, as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent
  • Successful candidates should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.
