As a teacher with Centre of English Studies, your job description will be as outlined below. The duties listed below will however not necessarily be limited to this list and this list cannot be considered to be exhaustive.

Academic
Planning and teaching 15 hours of morning classes (09.30 13.00 Monday to Friday) as allocated to you by the Principal/Academic Director. These may be at any level and at any CES location in Leeds. They may be adults or juniors. We will of course make every effort to ensure that you are allocated classes in accordance with your preferences, but this may not always be possible.
Writing full and comprehensive reports for your main class (the class which you teach first every morning) and any other interim reports when asked to do so by the Principal/Academic Director
Advising the Principal/Academic Director of any students who have been misplaced in their level or who need to move up or to move down a level
Completing accurate and detailed weekly schemes of work in accordance with the CES Curriculum and Syllabus document and in conjunction with your class co-teacher
Any other reasonable duties or tasks as deemed necessary by the Principal/Academic Director

Administrative
Maintaining your work areas in an orderly fashion, filing (in accordance with the cataloguing system) in the proper place any supplementary materials that are not being used.
Maintaining accurate attendance registers. Informing the Director of Studies of absences by morning break.
Ensuring that End of First Week and End of Course questionnaires are completed online
Ensuring that lessons are fully and professionally prepared.

Supervision

Working under the direction of the CES Junior Centre Coordinator, and with group leaders and social activity leaders -
Supervise junior students in the residence in the evenings.
Ensure meal times, daily shuttle bus departures and arrivals and curfews are adhered to
Facilitate group arrival and departures in the residence
Participate in evening and weekend social activities on occasions when reasonably requestedQualificationsFirst Degree CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL. 1 year full-time teaching experience. Previous experience in residential summer schools beneficial. Responsible attitude. Awareness of safe-guarding and health and safety. Clear DBS. Right to work in the UK.
