ABOUT THE ROLE

The Serious Welfare Incidents team plays a major role in the management of welfare cases where a risk has been identified on or off campus. As a senior member of a professional support team the successful candidate will play a leading role in shaping and delivering our response to complex welfare incidents. They will manage a caseload, providing advice, information and support to a diverse range of students, working with services across the university to ensure the best outcome for the student or students at the centre of each case.

You will play a leading role in shaping and delivering our response to complex welfare incidents with the assistance of colleagues across the wider university. You will provide support appointments, both planned and ad-hoc, and refer students to appropriate internal and external agencies where needed, such as mental health or other community services.   

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification and have significant experience of working within a multi-disciplinary setting which includes professional services such as mental health support and NHS services.

ABOUT YOU

  • Act corporately, promoting the ‘One University’ principle and promoting the Service within and outside the University where appropriate. 
  • Undertake other responsibilities as required.
