We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with development experience to join our growing team. Ideally with some supervision experience.

Main responsibilities: 

·        Assist the Housing Development Manager to identify and facilitate new build housing projects

·        Commission and evaluate feasibility studies and carry out viability assessments for new housing development schemes, using initiative and creativity during the project planning process in advance of commencing a procurement process.

·        Identify and negotiate the purchase of privately owned land and/or properties to improve the potential for development of Council owned land

·        Supervise 3 Housing Development Officer in scoping, designing, planning, implementing and managing housing development and improvement projects through to completion.

·        Provide information to colleagues in other sections such as Allocations, Landlord Services and Asset management to ensure smooth handover and management of properties.

Essential criteria:

·        A minimum of 2 years’ experience of managing staff and delivering customer focused quality services.

·        Educated to degree level or equivalent.

·         A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with various partners to deliver local authority housing objectives.

·        Significant experience of managing substantial budgets, either directly or indirectly.

·        Knowledge of the development processes, developing s106 and land led opportunities and value for money in this context.

·        Sensitivity to political considerations

·        Full driving licence and access to a car.

The role is permanent – 37 Hours per week

You will supervise 3 Housing Development Officers and report to the Housing Development Manager

We are an ambitious organisation with a varied development programme.  We are looking for a Senior Housing Development Officer who is responsible for the management of a range of new build schemes from initial opportunity through to completion.  This key role will also include the supervision of a small team of Housing Development Officers.

The intention is for the postholder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate. However, office and hybrid working are also available.
