Objective: We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to support Whitstable Maritime in recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of our activities and programs. \r
\r

Whitstable Maritime focuses on four related objectives: \r
\r

\r
\tCelebrating Whitstable's maritime heritage \r
\tSupporting the town's coastal economic development \r
\tAddressing marine environment issues \r
\tEncouraging well-being \r
\r
\r

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for: \r
\r

\r
\tRecruitment: Develop and implement strategies for recruiting volunteers to meet our growing needs. This may include outreach efforts through online platforms, social media, community events, and partnerships with local organisations. \r
\tOnboarding and Training: Manage the onboarding process for new volunteers, including orientation, training programs, and providing resources to familiarise them with the charity's mission, policies, and procedures. \r
\tVolunteer Placement: Assess volunteers' skills, interests, and availability to match them with suitable roles. Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments to ensure coverage for activities and events. \r
\tSupervision and Support: Provide ongoing support and guidance to volunteers as a point of contact for questions, concerns, or feedback. \r
\tCommunication: Regularly communicate with volunteers to inform them about opportunities and updates. \r
\tData Management: Keep accurate records of volunteer information, including contact details, hours contributed, and areas of expertise. \r
\tRecognition and Appreciation: Develop and implement strategies for recognising and appreciating the contributions of volunteers. \r
\tEvaluation and Feedback: Solicit feedback from volunteers on their experiences and satisfaction with their roles. Use feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the volunteer experience. \r

Requirements: \r
\r

\r
\tYou will need to live close to Whitstable and be able to attend meetings and charity events. \r
\tPassion for the charity's mission and a strong interest in volunteering. \r
\tOrganisational and time management abilities to effectively coordinate volunteer activities. \r
\tAbility to work collaboratively with diverse groups. \r
\tPrevious experience in volunteer management or related fields is desirable but not required. \r
