Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate/Fellow based within the Centre for Academic Primary Care in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham to work with a team on a range of research projects in mental health.

This research Associate/Fellow will be carrying out research in the Mental Health & Technology theme of the recently refunded NIHR Nottingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). You will join a vibrant and friendly team, working with colleagues across the university from a wide range of disciplines. You will work with large clinical research databases with a focus on polypharmacy in mental health. Responsibilities will include planning, data manipulation and conducting the statistical analysis of datasets arising from the research programme, providing statistical advice to other project members; and writing statistical analysis plans and scientific papers.

Candidates must have (or be nearing completion of) a PhD or equivalent in medical statistics, epidemiology, health services research, data science or a subject with a strong numeric component, or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in research area. Candidates will have in depth understanding of research methodology and epidemiological methods, be able to carry out statistical analyses using a range of statistical modelling methods and have experience of cleaning, manipulating and analysing large epidemiological datasets.

This post is available on a fixed term contract for 24 months. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). 

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
