About Us: The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools is a multi-academy trust (MAT) comprising three schools:

Your Role: As a co-opted governor, you will:

Challenge and Support: Scrutinise the school improvement plan and hold school leaders accountable for its delivery.Policy Monitoring: Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of policies related to safeguarding, SEND, pupil premium, and equalities.Engage with Stakeholders: Listen to and collaborate with pupils, parents, staff, and the wider community, including local employers.Representation: Serve on headteacher recruitment panels and participate in Ofsted inspections.

Qualities We Seek:

Confidence: Be confident in contributing your unique perspective.Curiosity: Ask questions and seek to understand.Challenging Mindset: Provide constructive challenge to improve outcomes.Creativity: Bring fresh ideas to the table.

Commitment:

Attend four local governing body meetings per year (approximately 2 hours each).Participate in 1-2 monitoring visits to your allocated school.Read relevant materials and engage fully during meetings.School visits are expected.
