Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
  • Finance Business Partner: Work with the P&L, providing financial guidance and steering business towards successful and compliant financial decisions/outcomes. A proactive approach to program cost analysis, budget control and productivity. 
  • Contract profitability: Prepare, understand, analyse, and communicate actual contract/programme profitability (did v bid).
  • COE/GOF business contact: Liaise with Accounting Centre of Excellence, other COEâs and Global Operations Finance, who support the business, to ensure smooth, efficient processes which generate accurate and timely business financials. 
  • Reporting and Analytics: Prepare, report and analyse business financials, including profit and cash walks, cost centre reporting, working with business to identify operational drivers and dynamic actions.
  • Long Range forecasting: Work with business value stream leaders and other functions to support the preparation and review of the medium- and long-term planning cycles of the business e.g. Budget and Strategic Plan.
  • Short Range Forecasting & Delivery: Be an integral finance business partner to support the business forecasting rhythms, identifying risks and opportunities, with mitigation plans to ensure OP targets are met/exceeded. Build processes/cadence to reduce forecast volatility. Embed tools and processes within IT systems to automate process.
  • Cost control: Strong operational connectivity, working with accountable cost owners to plan, monitor and challenge costs, including actions to reduce/eliminate cost and drive productivity.
  • Funding: Identify opportunities and drive optimal use of external funding sources for example, engineering cost, including submissions.
  • ERP: Be a key finance expert in the planning and execution of Dowty ERP transition from Syteline to Oracle â including data cleansing, process documentation, testing and training. Go-live Q2 2024.
  • Finance Lean Expert: Proactively embed, train, and facilitate lean principles and process improvement activity within Dowty finance and the broader Dowty business, including continuation of the âFinance for Non-Financeâ training programme.

Required Qualifications
  • Professional accounting qualification 
  • This role requires advanced experience in the Finance & FP&A Operations. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
  • Advance knowledge of Excel required
