This is an opportunity to join Refuge as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to supporting women and children who are impacted by domestic violence. You will work closely with victims of domestic abuse from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of domestic abuse at the highest risk and their children.

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

In order to attract and retain talent Hertfordshire County Council are funding a recruitment and retention allowance for this post. A taxable £2,000 payment will be offered upon successful completion of the 6 month probationary period. In order to qualify you must remain in post for one year, where service falls short of this the payment will be recoverable.
