What you'll do

As part of the âUKI Infrastructure Strategy & Solutionsâ function the Solutions team is responsible for providing solution design, technical planning and consultancy to the UKI technology tribes and business. With the establishment of the Flutter UKI Centres of excellence and wider UKI divisional operating model the team will play a critical role in providing integration solutions to support the business mobilisation. The team will also contribute significantly to the delivery of PPB & SBG Infrastructure roadmaps including design of solutions to support public cloud adoption across the division. By its nature Infrastructure is a collection of diverse technical domains, the team plays its part by providing overarching solutions that integrate these domains and unlock value for the business.

The Solutions Architect is a key role in planning and delivering scalable, reliable on-premise infrastructure and public cloud platforms across Flutter UKI. Working closely with technical stakeholder across the division you will design and document solutions capable of meeting the challenging requirements for stability and scalability necessary to support a rapidly growing online gaming and betting business.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute to the Infrastructure platform & public cloud platforms roadmap by identifying how solutions based on latest products/services can deliver the UKI infrastructure strategic vision. 

  • Technical ownership of the end to end solution and provide technical leadership during project planning & delivery.

  • Produce practical solutions designs to meet complex requirements.

  • Ensure that solution designs are aligned to the UKI architectural principles and can support high-volume large-scale workloads.

  • Deliver fit for purpose solutions by ensuring that functional and non-functional requirements are well understood by all stakeholders.

  • Seek opportunities to remove technical debt from infrastructure platforms and reduce complexity.

  • Maintain high quality solution documentation, detailed drawings and plans.

  • Communicate effectively through face to face interaction, presentation and consumable documentation, both at a deep technical level and for senior or non-technical audiences.

  • Work with 3rd party vendors and internal teams to evaluate how new hardware/software services will deliver on solution requirements.

  • Provide consultancy to UKI stakeholders on project and discovery engagements.

  • Collaborate with other architects & designers across Flutter to deliver end to end solutions.

  • Mentor junior staff as required and knowledge share with stakeholders.

  • Contribute to technical implementation plans and providing guidance to project teams.

  • Support the PPB/SBG Infrastructure engagement leads to triage technical requirements for new demand.

  • Provide accurate estimation for cost, effort and risk.

  • Contribute to the wider UKI architectural community.

How you'll do it

Working as a design authority across on private and public cloud infrastructure platforms you must be able to produce high quality designs which meet the functional and non-functional requirements identified by stakeholders. To be effective you must be able demonstrate a depth and breadth of technical knowledge across more than one of the core technology domains {Core infrastructure, Networking, Virtualisation, Automation, Public Cloud and Workplace tech}.

A key requirement of the role is the ability to self-organise and drive collaboration with a wide set of stakeholders both highly technical & non-technical. For larger initiatives you will be required to set technical direction and provide guidance when solving complex problems.
