Position: EHCP Coordinator
Location: Cheshire East Type: Full-Time
Working arrangements: Hybrid working (Offices in Crewe and Macclesfield)
About the Role:
As an EHCP Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of supporting children with SEND by developing and maintaining Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You'll manage a caseload of children, ensuring their EHCPs are up-to-date and reflective of their evolving needs. This role involves working closely with families, educational settings, and various agencies to secure the best outcomes for the young people in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Person-Centered Coordination: Lead a multi-agency approach to assessment and planning, treating young people and their families as equal partners.
- Caseload Management: Act as the key worker for children needing SEND assessments or EHCPs, ensuring their needs are met through effective planning and support.
- Liaison: Serve as the main contact for schools, colleges, and specialist institutions, both within and outside the Local Authority's area.
- Multi-Agency Meetings: Chair meetings, analyse diverse reports, and make informed recommendations.
- Family Support: Engage with families to resolve SEND support issues and guide them to appropriate services.
- Review and Reporting: Monitor the provision and progress of children with EHCPs, ensuring the achievement of their identified outcomes.
- Resource Allocation: Ensure efficient use of SEND funding and resources, advising on access and personal budgets.
- Legal Representation: Represent the Local Authority in mediations and tribunals concerning SEND matters.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: A graduate-level qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Health-related fields, Educational Psychology) is essential. Postgraduate qualifications or specialist awards related to SEND are desirable.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience working with children and young people with SEND in educational or health settings, and effective collaboration with various agencies.
- Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational skills, the ability to analyze data, and proficiency in IT applications.
- Knowledge: Up-to-date theory and practice in SEND, understanding of legal frameworks, and awareness of the impact on families.
