School Cleaner – Aurora Eccles and White House Schools, Quidenham, Norfolk

Location: Quidenham, Norwich, NR16 2NZ

Salary: £11.72 per hour

Hours: 4 hours daily, Monday to Friday. Potential start times: 4am, 5am or 2pm.

Contract Type: Perm 20 hours per week, Term time only plus 2 weeks

     

Aurora White House School and Aurora Eccles School

We’re currently looking for a part time Cleaner to join our housekeeping team. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the school. 

Part of the Aurora Group, Aurora Eccles and White House Schools in Quidenham, Norwich provides day placements for students aged 6 to 16 years primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.

Key Duties:

Dusting and polishingMaintaining clean and sanitary kitchen areasVacuuming and washing floorsTidying up roomsMonitoring cleaning supplies and ordering more as and when neededReporting any necessary repairsKeeping bathrooms stocked and cleanEmptying bins and disposing of waste 

Please note that duties will vary and you must expect to lend a hand wherever is required. 

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Ability to work well in a team and on own initiativeDemonstrable attention to detail and pride in workAbility to recognise the need for confidentialityDemonstrates effective interpersonal skillsAbility to be flexibleUnderstanding of principles of Health and SafetyCOSHH – safe use of chemicalsElectrical safetyFirst Aid Certificate – desirable but not essential


Requirements:

Good level of fitnessThe role will require some manual handling tasks – lifting, carryingAbility to work with appropriate cleaning productsAbility to safely use a range of cleaning equipmentUnderstanding of health and safety legislation and/or have a willingness to learnOngoing training will be provided to support this role


Due to the location of the school, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
