Tamworth, United Kingdom Staffordshire County Council Full time

'Internal applicants: if you plan to apply for this role on a secondment basis please make sure you have followed the process here for gaining approval from your current line manager. If you are offered the role and you do not have agreement this will cause significant delays to the process.'

Are you looking for a role where you can make a real difference?

Our aim at Staffordshire is to create an environment where families are supported to stay together safely and live well in their communities by building on their strengths. This is the right thing to do.

We're looking for passionate and motivated individuals to join our newly transformed district teams. We have a hybrid approach to work to assist your work life balance, with a mixture of office and remote working.

The role is based in Tamworth and is a 1 year fixed term.

Main Responsibilities

You will;

  • be supporting the Family Practitioner Leads to carry out the Local Authority's SEND duties in relation to co-ordinating Education Health &Care (EHC) assessments
  • producing EHC Plans and carrying out annual reviews
  • work closely with our children and young people with special educational needs and disability and their families as well as a range of qualified professionals in education, health and social care.
  • develop collaborative and respectful relationships, promoting choice and independence and improve outcomes
  • ensure that education, health, and care plans comply with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements in addition to the policies, standards and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate

It's a fast-paced role so you'll need to be able to manage your own caseload independently and as part of the team.

You will also:

  • Need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have knowledge of the SEND legislation plus, it's important that you can reflect on practice and improve as a result.

You can find out more about the role and the requirements in the job description attached. If you're unsure whether your skills match the role, you can discuss this with Mandy Baggott Family Practitioner Lead SEND and Education Tamworth - mandy.baggott@staffordshire.gov.uk

Interviews will likely be held on Thursday 3rd October

We're happy to talk flexible working
