The courses required of the Clinical Trainer role include:

  • The Clinical Trainer is responsible for assisting in the delivery of a broad range of mandatory and non-mandatory clinical training topics including but not limited to;
  • Moving and Handling
  • Resuscitation
  • PEG care
  • Tracheostomy Care
  • Wound Care
  • Cannulation
  • Phlebotomy
  • The purpose of the job is to support the Head of Training and Head of Clinical in achieving and attaining compliance with all training needs

What we are looking for in a successful candidate:

Essential

NMC registration with experience post graduate

Experience of providing care to patients in community and hospital environments

A wide range of clinical experience

Previous experience providing training or education (either within the NHS or private sector)

Previous clinical exposure to training and mentoring

Strong people skills, approachable, organized, credible, and professional

A teaching & assessing qualification such as a relevant 730, Award in Education and Training, DTLLS, Vocational Assessment Qualification, or equivalent experience of teaching and assessing practical clinical skills

Evidence of CPD

Knowledge of relevant subject areas: Clinical procedures, moving and handling, resuscitation, and first aid

Knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Effective training skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision and to act on own initiative

Understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt own approach to meet learner needs

Desirable

Current qualification to deliver Moving and Handling training

Experience in delivering resuscitation training

Experience in delivering cannulation training

Experience in delivering wound care training

Experience in complex care

ILS/ALS Instructor

Experience in creating and developing clinical curriculums
