The company

Are a well-established contract Manufacturing and Engineering company who provide precision machining, fabrication, welding and assembly services to a number of different industry sectors. Established in 1890, they have provided services to a wide range of sectors including, Scientific instruments, Food packaging, Oil and Gas, Rooflights to name a few. Previously in Cambridge the company moved to their current site in Fullbourn and can offer a tidy, bright and clean working environment. The factory is currently a team of 17 skilled workers which offer a friendly and supportive working environment

The role

We are seeking an Assembly Operative to work in the company s Aluminium extrusion department. Working on assembling Aluminium Extrusion into frames.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Loading materials into jogs
  • Checking that paintwork on parts is not damaged before assembling
  • Using hands tools and power tools to assemble aluminium frames
  • Making sure parts are in the correct orientation from assembly drawings/ pictures
  • Quality checking assembly is correct on completion
  • Make sure your working area is kept clean and tidy and adheres to H&S regulations

The Person

We are ideally seeking someone who has some previous experience within a similar manufacturing role and the following skills and attributes:

  • Have some previous experience within any kind of production or engineering industry
  • Familiarity of working with metal products would be hugely beneficial but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to check your own work with a critical eye
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • This will be a physical role so the ability to work on your feet is a must
  • Due to the rural location of the company, a driving licence and vehicle are essential

This a permanent role and the working hours are 39 hours a week over a 4 day period :Monday Thursday 06 00 (with 30 min unpaid lunch). The pay rate is negotiable depending on experience.
