Heads of Department have a pivotal role in inspiring and challenging pupils of every ability in every year to raise their academic standards, in promoting their confidence and self-esteem, and in securing year-on-year improved National Curriculum GCSE and post-16 results. You will achieve this by leading fellow professionals and supporting and sharing good practice in a suite of dedicated Science laboratories. You will coordinate planning and assessment and implement innovative and effective teaching and learning strategies in the classroom.
You will join a leading department that produces exceptional outcomes in a heavily oversubscribed academy. The department is staffed with a mixture of experienced teachers, ECTs and two technicians, who work cohesively, with a commitment to continuous school improvement.
