BNC Publishing is a media house based in Dubai and the publisher of Entrepreneur Middle East and Entrepreneur UK. The company creates and manages numerous world-class media publications, conferences and awards. 

Job Purpose:

The Editor would be leading and managing the editorial and content development requirements of the UK edition of Entrepreneur magazine. S/he would be responsible for overseeing the content creation process, ensuring quality and consistency across all published materials, and driving the editorial vision of the magazine. The Editor is also tasked with building and maintaining relationships with contributors, stakeholders, and readers.


Key responsibilities:

Content Strategy

  • Develop and execute content strategy and editorial guidelines for Entrepreneur magazine (UK edition) based on the standards of Entrepreneur Media.
  • Creating an editorial calendar for the magazine and the supplements.
  • A very strong journalism mindset with exceptional writing skills.
  • The ability and the confidence to secure interviews with key business decision makers.
  • Conducting interviews (in person, through video calls and emails), transcribing and writing stories to generate a very high readership and engagement. 
  • Very strong time management skills and meeting deadlines.

Editorial responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the highest quality of content.
  • Set editorial standards and policies, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines, style guides, and best practices for Entrepreneur.com, all its social media channels and the magazine. 
  • Stay well-informed of industry trends, reader interests, and advise on content decisions.
  • Effectively communicating with internal departments including creative, commercial, research and other stakeholders to deliver projects.
  • Control quality of website content, including ensuring that all elements are up to date.
  • Review and approve content for publication, including articles, features, editorials, and multimedia materials.
  • Collaborate with writers, sub-editors, and designers to shape content ideas and narratives.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all published content, including fact-checking and editing for grammar, style, and tone.
  • Managing the social media channels of Entrepreneur UK (setting the social media strategy and planning, posting social media-friendly content, managing social media campaign to generate more followers and engagement).


Audience engagement & monitoring

  • Understand the target audience and tailor content strategies to meet their needs, preferences, and expectations.
  • In charge of generating traffic and user engagement.
  • Foster reader engagement through compelling storytelling, interactive features, and community-building initiatives.
  • Monitor audience feedback, analytics, and metrics to assess content performance and identify areas for improvement.


Conferences & Awards

  • Identifying themes, scope of content and managing speakers for Entrepreneur conferences.
  • Creating the flow and the managing the entire process of conference (from the perspective of content, speaking points and speakers).
  • Curating and drafting the script for Entrepreneur conferences and awards ceremonies.



Skills

Knowledge/experience:

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a media house (publishing, TV, digital), content creation, PR agency or a PR/content department of an organization   
  • An excellent understanding of video content and suitable content for social media platforms
  • Great understanding of communications/media industry from an editorial point of view  
  • Very digitally savvy and familiar with the latest digital media and business media platforms
  • Understanding of the media landscape in the region
  • World-class writing skills
