Key responsibilities
Working closely with the Engineering Business Units and Finance Team to develop and improve accurate, timely financial reports tailored to their needs and that of the business.Assist the Finance Director to identify the drivers of and risks to business unit performance with tailored reports and financial analysis.Manage the WIP sheet for machined items and projects, updating operational forecasts and reviewing contract margins.Prepare monthly management accounts and management information packs to track business performance.Co-ordinating the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and KPIs, analysing and reporting on variances, managing tax compliance processes, SAO compliance, and the monthly and year end management accounts processes.Developing and measuring key financial performance indicators aligned with company strategy for continuous improvement.Developing financial processes, and tools for timely and effective management reporting.Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
What you need for the role.
A relevant accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or relevant experienceGood working knowledge of accounting standards and principlesAbility to prepare management accounts from Trial Balance.Ability to prepare budgets and forecasts covering multiple reporting periods,The ability to communicate well and develop an excellent working relationship with both finance and non-finance staff at all levels across the business.To be able to analyse, interrogate and interpret financial reports and accounts whilst providing commercial input and challenge to the relevant management teams.
