We have partnered with a commerce business who are looking for a Data Scientist to troubleshoot and diagnosing issues on their current systems and work closely with the technical team to provide a solution. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of their data function.

Responsibilities of the Data Scientist

Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues: Identify data discrepancies, underlying system problems, and operational challenges using advanced analytical techniques. Develop and Implement Solutions: Propose and implement data-driven solutions to complex problems, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and effective. Data Analysis and Modelling: Perform rigorous data analysis to extract insights and support decision-making. Develop predictive models that help in understanding complex behaviours and outcomes. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand system architectures and operational workflows, facilitating the development of holistic solutions. Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, models, and techniques to enhance data quality, performance, and reliability. Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients to understand their challenges, provide expert consultations, and communicate complex solutions in an understandable manner. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of analysis, models, and solutions. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and related technologies. Continuously enhance skills and knowledge to remain competitive in the field.

Skills required for the Data Scientist

Proven experience in data science, with a strong focus on problem-solving and troubleshooting. Strong experience in Microsoft Azure Expertise in statistical software (Python) and database languages (e.g., SQL). Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated experience in machine learning algorithms and predictive modelling. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
