Job Summary

• As Data Governance Analyst you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance processes and standards to ensure quality, integrity, and security of organisational data. The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

• Data Governance Framework: Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines. Help to define roles and responsibilities, establish accountability for data stewardship and management.
• Data quality management: Monitor data quality issues and develop plans to improve accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Establish data quality standards and metrics and help implement processes to measure and report on data quality.
• Data standards and security: Collaborate with legal, compliance and IT teams to address data privacy and security concerns, helping to mitigate risks. Define and maintain data standards, naming conventions, data dictionaries and cataloguing to ensure consistent data usage and interpretation. Manage metadata repositories and catalogues to document data lineage, definitions and dependencies.
• Project support: A series of initiatives to support a step change in data usage, will drive the creation of data governance projects over the next few years. There will be programmes of change relating to data asset classification, modernising data retention standards & processes, and data lifecycle management.
• Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with business units, IT teams, data owners and data stewards to understand data requirements and usage patterns. Communicate governance policy, standards, and guidelines. Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting (working with BI team) to monitor key performance indicators and identify trends, issues and opportunities.

Who You Are

• Likely to have a degree or in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in data governance, data management or a similar role
• Working knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices
• Familiarity with data privacy regulation and compliance requirements, such as GDPR
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex data issues and propose solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies such as Informatica
