The Role
This role will be situated at our Malton site, in the planning department and will be responsible for the planning and coordinating of all raw material and production within the Central Packed Meats (CPM) area of the site, to meet customer requirements whilst aiming for maximum efficiency in the use of machinery, raw materials and labour. The post-holder will produce accurate stock requirements and plans for labour, machinery and labour hours and will work closely with production, other planning areas, costing and technical, communicating and notifying of potential problems where necessary.
The root to success in this role will be through strong understanding of factory production capabilities and critically strong working relationships with all relevant internal departments and external customers. Maintaining an awareness of the material flow between departments and querying any deviation to standard practises and resolving accordingly. Ensuring departmental supervisors and managers understand their role in achieving the plan. Acting decisively under challenging time pressured conditions and take full responsibility and accountability for actions to ensure excellence is achieved.

Key Accountabilities
Typical activities may vary from week to week and will change depending on the needs of the Buisness. Activities will include:
Work as part of a unified team, driving increased planning accuracy and stock control throughout and supporting an environment for the whole team to contribute to success, with ownership by all
Receive customer orders from forecasting systems, Sales Managers and the Trading Department
Update daily plans to reflect orders and requirements, ensuring the correct specification of product is available for the forecasted production
Ensure provision of detailed production plans for all designated departments
Analyse actual versus plan on a daily and weekly basis and report on adherence to plan
Explore, develop and implement the most efficient and cost effective methods of producing products from the site.
To explore, develop and implement best practices, identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous performance improvement across all areas of responsibility.
Utilise standard operating procedures for the planning team and identify improvements where appropriate
Ensure the accuracy of stock reports
Immediate communication and escalation of potential problems to minimise potential errors
Effectively communicates relevant information to all business levels and confronts issues openly and quickly
