We’re looking for a passionate Contract Manager  to join our Commercial & Vendor Management team within National Grid’s Enterprise Services function. As a Contract Manager you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of up to 3 strategic Managed Service Agreements. This role is based out of our Warwick office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. What You'll Do
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with suppliers to deliver exceptional performance in cost, service, and quality.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with internal customers.
  • Provide day to day advice and recommendations at the appropriate level (including Senior Leadership) on commercial risks, issues, and governance across your contract portfolio.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues and manage plans to mitigate service delivery and value leakage.
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager, implement and oversee a robust governance framework to manage supplier and contract performance.
  • Support the Commercial and Vendor Management team to identify, implement and improve contract and vendor management capabilities.
  • Develop insights to input into the contract management process, through research and analysis of supply markets and emerging supplier trends.
  • Partner with internal Service Excellence and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams to support improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Procurement teams to implement sourcing strategies and onboard new suppliers. This will also involve helping internal delivery teams understand the terms of the contract.
  • Use tools such as Power BI to develop supplier scorecards and metrics to measure, monitor and report performance.
  • Manage invoicing administration to ensure financial governance and control, creating spend reports / analysis when required.
  • Prepare contract management documentation in collaboration with stakeholders during the contract lifecycle, for example the contract change control process
What You'll Have
  • Comprehensive experience in contract management and/or vendor management.
  • Experience of managing outsourced Managed Service Provider contracts and offshore suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels including senior leaders within the internal business and supplier organisations.
  • Formed positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers and is comfortable challenging to gain the best outcome.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills to drive optimum value throughout the life of a contract.
  • Delivered improved ways of working and efficiencies to contracts and supplier relationships which has resulted in lasting change.
  • Proactively identified risks and issues and managed plans to mitigate.
  • The ability to prepare reports and collate information to make recommendations, as well as presenting this in a concise manner for a range of stakeholders to support decision making.
  • Chaired commercial and supplier meetings.
  • An understanding of reporting and data visualisation tools such as Power BI is highly desirable. 
  • An understanding of Energy & Utilities or another regulated environment would be useful, but not essential.
What You'll Get

Up to £52,000 depending upon experience.
