Insight Investment is looking for a Senior Developer to join the growing team in Manchester. As part of the Guideline Technology Solutions product team using Agile methodologies (Scrum), C#/.NET and TypeScript, you will assist the development manager in the day to day running of the team and be involved in all aspects of the systems development life cycle (SDLC) for the applications and services owned by the GTS team. This is a split role where some of your time will be spent helping to manage the team.

Role Responsibilities

Assist the Development Manager in day-to-day activities related to software deliveryWork with the Product Owner to prioritise and plan sprintsParticipate in and, where appropriate, lead meetings with business stakeholdersProvide technical advice to other Developers in GTS and the wider departmentTake ownership for driving change and innovation, bring relevant teams together and lead workshops and team ceremoniesAssess and recommend architectural patterns based on functional and non-functional requirementsPresent information concisely to individuals within and outside of the Technology functionMentor the wider team to support the Team lead and help optimise team performance


Experience Required

Proven experience in a delivery lead, scrum master role or other split responsibility role where some of your time has been dedicated to team management.Expertise in C# / .NET (including .NET Framework)Experience working with SQL and EF CoreExperience of development in React.js / TypeScript / JESTExperience with Azure PaaS servicesExperience working in Agile teams performing iterative development and refining your own work as a teamFundamentals and approaches: OOP, SOLID principles, TDD/BDD/ATDDDVCS with Git (GitHub)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, Octopus, Github Actions Workflows)Ability to collaborate with end users, stakeholders, and team members.Pair/Mob programming and performing peer code reviewsDemonstrate initiative and independence to solve problemsStand by software engineering principles around quality and doing things the right wayHave a constant desire to improve knowledge and drive adoption of new tech or approaches within the teamBe able to communicate abstract or complex ideas or solutions effectively
