Trainee Panel Wireman Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and eager-to-learn Trainee Panel Wireman to join our team. This entry-level role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in electrical panel wiring and assembly. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in wiring and assembling electrical control panels according to technical drawings and specifications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all panels meet our high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5 PM.

Trainee Panel Wireman Key Responsibilities:

  • Wiring & Assembly: Assist in the wiring and assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, and related equipment, following guidance from experienced wiremen and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Reading Schematics: Learn to interpret electrical schematics and layout drawings to ensure correct and precise wiring connections.
  • Component Installation: Support the installation and mounting of electrical components, such as circuit breakers, relays, transformers, and other control devices.
  • Testing: Assist with continuity testing, insulation resistance testing, and functional testing on completed panels to ensure proper operation.
  • Troubleshooting: Learn to diagnose and repair wiring issues or faults found during assembly or testing, under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Quality Assurance: Help ensure all wiring and assembly work is performed to the highest standards, following company and industry regulations.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, including test results, modifications, and assembly documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production staff, and quality control to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality products.

Trainee Panel Wireman Should Have the Following Skills and Experience:

  • Interest in Electrical Work: A strong interest in learning about electrical systems, panel wiring, and assembly.
  • Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to develop new skills, particularly in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of electrical components and their functions within control panels is a plus but not required.
  • Hands-On Experience: Some experience with hand tools, power tools, or testing equipment is beneficial, but training will be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of precision and attention to detail in wiring and assembly tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Basic problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn how to identify and correct wiring issues.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces.
