Lead Maintenance Engineer

What you'll be doing;

  • Responsible for maximising the throughput of the facility by organising and completing day-to-day routine maintenance and shutdown work of all plant and equipment.
  • Allocate work for the weekend shutdowns and plan the work during the week, you will also supervise the on-shift Technicians during the week and distribute labour.
  • Support the apprentice engineers onsite to maintain efficient and effective plant operations, preventing plant breakdowns by completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Complete planning and scheduling of all of the maintenance aspects of the recycling facility.
  • Organise and plan PPM scheduled work and non-scheduled work through INFOR CMMS.
  • Supervise service contractors and contract labour, raising work permits and reviewing risk assessments/method statements, identifying and ordering spare parts for repairs and modifications.
  • Ensure maintenance requests from all sites within the role holder remit are dealt with in a timely and professional manner and complete all relevant paperwork and reports to the required standard.



What we're looking for;

  • City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance or a recognised formal apprenticeship with an ONC/HNC in the relevant discipline.
  • Experience in process manufacturing, production industry or food manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with material handling equipment, conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, pumps, motors, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology.
  • Competent problem solver with a practical approach to engineering problems.
  • Have an analytical approach to investigation, allied with a practical ability to resolve engineering problems.
