Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join their Dermatology Team. The current department offers a full range of Dermatology Services for the local population of 600,000.
Our Dermatology hub is based at St Woolos Hospital. We provide phototherapy, patch testing, paediatric dermatology, biologic infusions, nurse-led drug monitoring, minor surgery and one-stop skin lesion clinics. In addition we have developed an expanding Teledermatology Service, which has been well received by patients and GPs and is having a positive impact on waiting times and service delivery.
The successful candidate will work in close conjunction with the existing Consultants and have wide experience of skin cancer. The Skin Cancer Service is well developed at present with one-stop lesion clinics on 3 sites, supported by surgically skilled GPs and Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists.
Main duties of the job
As a senior employee of the Health Board the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients. Job description
Job responsibilities
The appointee will support the Clinical Service in Dermatology and will be responsible, as part of a team, for the management of patients alongside Dr Pynn at Nevill Hall Hospital, carrying out surgical procedures within the one stop clinic setting.
The appointed candidate will be fully involved in education and clinical audit programmes.
