Wadhurst, United Kingdom Uplands Academy Full time

We are seeking applications from dedicated and hardworking professionals with a desire to work in a successful, thriving and supportive secondary Academy making a positive contribution to our Technology department as a technician. You will be required to help set up equipment, support lessons and carry out any administrative tasks required. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given to the right candidate.

To be successful, you will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and a genuine desire to help contribute positively to the lives of our young people. This is a superb opportunity for anyone wishing to gain experience in a school environment, possibly as part of their career development.

We are flexible with working hours allocation (full- or part-time considered), and these hours can be worked over three to five days per week. Working days and times can be agreed on appointment.

We are a mixed 11–18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.

We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

At Uplands Academy, the relationships between our staff and our students are excellent and ones that we are proud of. Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are personalised and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning. We want our children to be happy, successful, and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students. We want to be an exceptional educational establishment for our community.
