Tes is supporting the appointment of a KS3 QTS tutor for core subjects with SEN / ASC experience and good availability who can tutor in Ashtead.

The role

Their tuition agency (an employment business) seeks experienced  QTS Tutors with excellent written and spoken English who can tutor KS3 core subjects - experience working with students with ASC strongly desired. Tutors must be available to tutor in Ashtead.

They strongly prefer tutors with good availability for in-person tutoring (and can offer many hours of tutoring, including during the daytime).

Students typically receive tuition in their homes (one-to-one) with a parent or guardian present or at school through the NTP (small groups up to 1:6). Successful candidates will be provided with further information and guidelines on their approach and relevant training for working with SEN students.

You will be working as a self-employed, part-time tutor, so you can choose which clients/students you wish to provide tuition to. Based on client demand, they are ideally looking for tutors who are looking to tutor at least 12 hours per week (and have good opportunities for those wishing to tutor many hours each week). They provide their tutors with opportunities for professional development, including the potential for an employment contract if of interest.

Key qualifications

All candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list) before commencing any tutoring assignments (we can apply on behalf of a candidate if not currently held). Candidates must also provide 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference. Candidates who have lived / worked overseas in the last 5 years will also need to provide certain overseas checks, including a police certificate.
