Our client is a leading global producer of innovative flavour solutions across a range of sweet, savoury and natural categories.

Our client is currently is looking to recruit a savoury flavourist for their UK site, either at junior or senior level, which will focus on culinary flavours.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating new innovative flavour concepts which meet the customer expectations in terms of quality, application and price.

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of typical flavour systems including Spray drying, washes, infusions and distillates.

  • Collaborating with the applications team responsible for the evaluation and validation of flavour concepts in specific applications such as beverage, dairy and bakery products.

  • Interpret and use analytical results including olfactory, GC/MS and GC analysis for proactive and reactive creation of flavours.

  • Evaluate new raw material and technologies.

  • Provide insights to help direct new flavour innovation.

  • Work across a number of in-house technology platforms,

  • Liaise with Account Managers, Business Development Managers and other Innovation Departments.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Chemistry, food science or related area

  • At least 3 years industry experience in a flavourist role, from the savoury category in culinary.

  • Good understanding of flavour and food legislation.

  • Good knowledge of market categories, products, clients and competitor portfolios.

  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with cross functional teams.

  • Knowledge of modern analytical techniques used within the flavour industry.

  • Strong social skills and able to interact with customers.
