The successful candidate will provide proactive and reactive network management, including resolution of network incidents, root cause analysis and completion of change requests. The role will focus on remotely resolving incidents, performing platform upgrades, responding to cyber based threats, tuning incident alerts, writing technical documentation, attending customer calls, configuring firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers and wireless networks.

What you’ll do

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Stakeholder engagement will be key, and you will establish and maintain good relationships within IT Services and Business Change, additionally interacting with business teams, as and when required
  • Maintain good customer relationships
  • Managing compliance and patching, vulnerability management, ITIL BAU Queue management, small project work within the customers time frames, providing technical advice and recommendations where required
  • Managing documentation, taking ownership and updating knowledge articles as required
  • Liaising with 3rd Line team members to enable any service improvement to reduce incidents on customer environments.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Call and incident Management
  • Delivery of network configuration tasks on LAN, WAN and security devices
  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up of network devices
  • Monitoring the network and implementing changes to ensure optimal performance
  • Raising TAC cases with networking vendors
  • Maintaining a good level of technical ability and understanding
  • Attend and contribute to key stakeholder meetings
  • Develop an interest in Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS)
  • Implement network upgrades and patching
  • Configure and manage a variety of LAN and security devices
  • Maintain technical documentation and designs
  • Assist other team members with technical escalations
  • Respond to network incidents within the defined Service Level Agreements
  • Monitor and update the call management system as required
  • Assist with producing availability reporting.

 

What you’ll need

 

  • 2nd line support role experience
  • SC Security Clearance (or eligibility for the clearance at a minimum)
  • A real team player with desire to resolve technical problems who can work on their own initiative
  • IT Networks infrastructure and relevant technical qualifications (Cisco CCNA/CCNP and Aruba ACSA) or equivalent experience
  • Network experience including Cisco Technologies (LAN/WAN), Aruba, Check Point Security Gateways and Palo Alto Firewalls
  • A good understanding of TCP/IP Protocols
  • Routing and Switching fault resolution
  • Understanding of Firewalls and security technologies
  • Experience of ICMP/SNMP monitoring tools
  • Experience of VMWare NSX
  • ITIL certification.
