Canary Wharf, United Kingdom The Medicines And Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency Full time

The MHRA is transforming. Through enabling innovation, making the right judgements of the benefits and risks of medical products and forging the right partnerships in the UK and internationally, it aims to deliver world class regulation and improved outcomes for UK patients.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Engagement Lead to join our Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the Safety and Surveillance group.

Within a week of working here, your day could look like this: incentivising GPs to join the growing network of GP practices working with CPRD, engaging with GPs to raise awareness of the public health benefits and care quality improvements arising from CPRD enabled research.

The role also involves inviting and encouraging practices to take part in studies and working as part of study teams; managing campaigns and activities to encourage GPs to take part in clinical research and liaising with the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN), as well as clinical research networks in the devolved UK nations.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A talented communicator, comfortable with public speaking and presenting to a range of audiences with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain language.
  • Previous experience of working in primary care or in a role involving regular interactions with Health Care Professional’s as well as having sound understanding of the benefits and sensitivities of using patient records in research.
  • Good writing, organisational and administrative skills, with prior experience of drafting reports and documents, monitoring progress against targets and milestones and maintaining up to date files and documentation.
  • Knowledge of the UK primary Care Environment
  • Proactive confident approach and excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrable evidence of initiating and sustaining productive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
