Key responsibilities
Building long lasting client relationshipsWorking on a variety of interesting and complex accounts assignments across multiple sectors, liaising with seniors, manager and partners when requiredUsing a variety of accounting software packages including CCH, Sage and XeroDeveloping and applying your technical and commercial knowledgeEnsuring assignments are completed to a high standard, in time and within budgets agreed with DirectorsHandling a client portfolioReviewing working papers, statutory accounts and management accounts for sole traders, limited companies and partnershipsPreparing and reviewing corporation tax computationsManaging own workload in a timely and efficient manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectationsTaking responsibility for certain management tasks within the departmentSupervising, training and assisting more junior members of the teamSome line management responsibilitiesBuild productive relationships with team members and colleagues at Shaw Gibbs, adopting a collaborative working approach

What you will need to succeed
ACCA/ACA qualified or finalistMinimum of 3 years UK practice experienceExperience of FRS1021A is essentialExperience of any of the following would be an advantage: SRAsInternational accountsConsolidated accountsCharity accounts University degree with a 2:1 or higher or 3 good A-Level results (or equivalent)Excellent communication, interpersonal and client management skillsFully fluent in English, verbal and writtenExceptional attention to detailStrong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quicklyA positive, confident and proactive attitudeCreate a positive impression with clients and staffAbility to prioritise and meet tight time-frames with high quality outputEnjoy working as part of a team and self-motivatedEnjoy developing junior staff
