We are currently looking for Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team based at Harrogate, working 40 hours per week.
As part of service provided by Homes for Students we issue a full monthly management accounts pack for each property. The Assistant Management Accountant will work under the Senior Management Accountant. Working within the Universal Client Team, primarily producing monthly Management Accounts and financial property reports. Excellent communication skills, accuracy, efficiency and an eye for detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts Produce and post Journals Support with posting and reconciling of Month End Sales Recharges Monthly Prepayments and Accruals Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations Production of Monthly Financial packs to clients and property managers Bank Account Reconciliations Internal contact for Accounting Queries Any Other Ad-Hoc tasks as required
The above outlines the main duties and responsibilities of the position, however, this cannot be comprehensive and other duties, as directed by the company and within the job holder’s capabilities may be required. The duties will evolve and be modified by changes within the company.
Skills (includes Key Competencies)
Strong problem-solving skills. Proven experience with spread sheets Good communications skills, both orally and in writing. Ability to successfully handle several priorities simultaneously, maintain composure in high pressure situations and maintain objectivity, focus and good judgement. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Purchase ledger experience Excellent presentation, attention to detail and ability to complete tasks.

The ability to communicate and work as a team Commitment and enthusiasm to Homes for Students and its work. Commitment to quality in all aspects of service delivery Commitment to equal opportunities. Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum guidance and confidence in taking initiative. Ability to manage the delivery of detailed work. Key attributes are an ability to demonstrate a flexible and positive ‘can do’ attitude and to become quickly established to add value to the business.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
Good general standard of education Studying AAT or early stages of ACCA/CIMA/ACA 2-3 Years’ experience in an Accounting/Finance function Good communicator and interpersonal skills Good organisational skills and can work in a methodical manner Time management skills Proven track record in all areas of accounts
