We have an excellent opportunity for an IT Audit Specialist to join our Audit team. This is a 12 month fixed term contract, based in Edinburgh.

About the Department

The remit of the team covers risks and controls relating to IT Operations, Cyber Security, Operational Resilience and other international technology regulations.

Working day to day with an IT Audit Manager you will support the delivery of technology audit work aligned to the firm's key risk areas.

About the Role

Audit Delivery:

Responsible for detailed planning, scoping & performance of audit work to support delivery of Audit Plan.

Ensure issues identified during audits are analysed to determine the root cause.

The documentation of audit work meets methodology and quality requirements.

Audit findings are articulated and communicated effectively to senior business management in a clear, constructive and accurate manner (with support from the Audit Manager on complex audits).

Demonstrate willingness to be proactive and take on responsibility during audits.

Issue Validation:

Complete issue validation to a high standard, in line with abrdn’s methodology, and in a timely manner.

Provide assurance that audit issues have been closed appropriately or where this is not the case, identify where further work is required.

Other/Ongoing Responsibilities:

Act as a role model for Internal Audit’s culture and behaviours, including transparency and empowerment.

Support our agile delivery approach by performing the scrum master role where appropriate, helping the audit to deliver on time and to the expected quality.

About the Candidate Requirements

Essential -

Experience of delivering multiple IT audits

An understanding of key technology risks and controls

A proactive work ethic and commitment to high quality work

Desirable -

Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA) qualification or similar

Knowledge of risks and controls in the following areas: Cloud services, Cyber Security Operations

An understanding of technology regulations including: Operational Resilience, Digital Operational Resilience (DORA)
