Role Purpose:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead Officer (DSLO) to oversee and manage the operational safeguarding arrangements at our College. This pivotal role includes leading the Safeguarding & Welfare Team, ensuring the effective implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures, and promoting best practices across the College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary lead on safeguarding, including the Prevent Duty, and regularly report to the Strategic Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Lead and develop Safeguarding & Welfare initiatives to support student success and well-being.
  • Represent the College in partnerships with external safeguarding professionals to ensure outstanding learner support.
  • Maintain and review the Safeguarding Policy and Prevent Strategy in line with current legislation.
  • Lead the development and delivery of staff training programs on safeguarding, ensuring compliance and best practice.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a commitment to student welfare.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practices.
