We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.

As a Java Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Asset Management Investment Data Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Champion a domain-based approach to data management working closely with domain experts to meets diverse needs across the Investment Platform.
  • Drive the development of a contribution model that encourages active participation and code sharing spanning multiple engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to adopt and contribute to shared libraries, emphasising a unified approach to analytics.
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in Java or Python and modern programming paradigms
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability, particularly data pipelines for moving/transforming data.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Exposure to AWS via hands on experience or certification


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge in Snowflake and Iceberg
  • Exposure to functional programming e.g., Kotlin
