Exeter, United Kingdom University of Exeter Full time

This full-time post is available immediately on a fixed-term basis to 31 March 2026 (with a possibility of further extension, dependent on funding).

This role offers the opportunity for optional hybrid working, with some time worked on St Luke’s campus in Exeter, and some from home.

We welcome applications from candidates who are interested in working part-time hours (minimum 0.8 FTE) or job-sharing arrangements.

We will be reviewing applications as they come in, so please don’t hesitate in applying, as we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications.

Summary of the role

The role will provide general and specialist administrative support across varied activities within the South West Peninsula's Applied Research Collaboration (PenARC). One of 15 Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) funded by the National Institute for Health and care Research (NIHR), PenARC is a large research group based across a number of organisations. We work closely with health and social care professionals, members of the public and local communities in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset to address immediate issues facing the health and care system through applied research and ensure the needs of our regional population are met.

Key responsibilities for this role include: providing PenARC colleagues and stakeholders with information relating to finance and budgets; communications and marketing; and arranging meetings and events (online and offline). The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work and communicate successfully with a broad range of stakeholders and audiences.

A primary focus of the role will be to support the Heath Service Modelling Associates (HSMA) programme, a scheme that provides free training and support in Operational Research (OR) and Data Science methods for people working with data in health, care and policing organisations.

About the team

This post is situated within the Project Support Team of PenARC. The team, which includes colleagues from the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth, provides operational, programme management, administrative and communications support to the wider PenARC research group.

Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
