We are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

The Role

As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support to the Finance Team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.

You’ll act as a lead on Accounts Payable tasks, posting and reviewing payroll journals and managing one-off BACS payments, employee expenses and company credit card payments,
maintaining high levels of financial control at all times.

Working closely with the Shared Service accounts payable team in Newcastle, you will resolve invoice processing queries and ensure accuracy in supplier master data.

Additionally, you will:

- Conduct P&L analysis to help explain monthly financial performance
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances  
- Support the wider finance team in responding to audit queries from both internal and external auditors

About You

To be considered as an Accounts Assistant, you will need:

- Experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- An AAT qualification or equivalent
- A proven track record of problem solving, project management and continuous improvement in a business environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A high level of attention to detail, organisation and accuracy
