Job Description

Wayman Group, a prestigious educational organization in the primary/secondary education industry, is seeking an exceptional individual to join our exceptional school in Manchester as the Head of English. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the English department and driving academic excellence within the subject. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual who can make a significant impact on the learning journey of our students. The position will commence in April.
As the Head of English at Wayman Group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an exceptional English curriculum, supporting and mentoring teachers, and fostering a love for literature and language among students. We are seeking a visionary leader who can inspire and guide both students and staff to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities

Lead and manage the English department, providing guidance and support to teachersDevelop and implement an engaging and rigorous English curriculumCollaborate with fellow academic leaders to enhance cross-curricular initiativesMonitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvementCreate a positive and inclusive learning environmentEnsure the effective use of resources and technology within the departmentMaintain open communication with parents regarding students' academic performanceStay up-to-date with developments in the field of English education
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in English or a related fieldTeaching certification and significant teaching experienceProven experience as a Head of English or in a similar leadership roleOutstanding knowledge and understanding of the English curriculumStrong leadership and management skillsAbility to inspire and motivate students and staffExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsUp-to-date knowledge of current educational trends and best practicesPassion for English education and dedication to academic excellence
