Role Overview:
As Electronics Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of production units. Your expertise in fault-finding and technical support will be essential in maintaining the highest standards. You will work closely with other test engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in testing and troubleshooting processes.

Key Responsibilities as Electronics Test Engineer:

  • Technical Support: Act as a technical advisor for Automatic Test Equipment (A.T.E) operators, providing solutions and support to optimise testing processes.
  • Bench Testing: Conduct thorough bench tests on production amplifier assemblies, adhering to detailed technical specifications to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Fault Finding: Diagnose issues down to the component level, utilising your expertise in analogue electronics to identify and rectify faults efficiently.
  • Maintenance & Calibration: Regularly maintain, repair, and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability in testing procedures.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of testing processes, fault findings, and repairs to contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience as Electronics Test Engineer:

  • Experience: hands on fault finding and testing, preferably within a production environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of analogue electronics and familiarity with valve amplifiers is advantageous.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems and implement effective solutions.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry, diagnostics, and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum ONC in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline. Additional certifications or qualifications in electronics are a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of engineers and shop floor staff.
  • Work Under Pressure: Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced production environment, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure precision in testing and fault diagnosis.
