As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the efficient coordination and planning of transportation activities. Working closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, and management, you will be responsible for optimising routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and minimising costs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating innovative solutions to enhance our transportation network.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient transportation routes to maximise delivery speed and minimise costs.
  • Utilise transportation management software to analyze and optimize route planning.
  • Monitor and manage transportation capacity to ensure optimal resource utilisation.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to align transport capacity with demand forecasts
  • Communicate effectively with drivers and provide support to address any issues or delays.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency of transportation operations.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and technology advancements.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to address customer inquiries, track shipments, and resolve any delivery-related issues.
  • Work with legal and regulatory teams to obtain necessary permits and approval
  • Stay informed about transportation regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
  • Generate regular reports on key performance indicators and present findings to management.
  • Analyse transportation data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate schedules for drivers, vehicles, and other resources to meet delivery deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in transport planning or logistics coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software.
  • Knowledge of relevant transportation laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
