CRA MI

Reporting to the Head of Management Reporting & Analysis and working with stakeholders across Munich Re Specialty Group Limited (MRSG) and Global Specialty Insurance 4 (GSI4) the role targets to become an expert in Munich Value Based Management (VBM) and IFRS 17 reporting and accounting matters and support projects across Commercial Reporting & Analysis (CRA) departments and will support the preparation of quarterly MI reporting and performance analysis
• Improve understanding & become expert in financial reporting on business performance on IFRS 17 and VBM basis, including accounting technical matters, data lineage, systems and processes
• The role is expected to work closely with and build & maintain strong relationships across the local Finance community (in particular IFRS 17, Financial reporting and Actuarial department) and relevant Central departments in Munich Central Reinsurance Controlling (RIC) / Reinsurance Accounting (RIA) / Central Reserving / Central Underwriting)
• Support projects across CRA departments; improve peer & market analysis activities across he CRA department
• Supporting the Finance ambition to become an automated process led department, through process standardization, application of new technology and leveraging digitisation and automation opportunities. Utilise VBM & IFRS 17 dashboard suite to communicate and analyse Financial performance
The role forms a key part of the CRA and Management Reporting & Analysis Team, and will also play an important role in making the CFO Department a great place to work, as well as helping the team adapt to the evolving needs of the business.

Responsibilities
Ownership and subject matter expert in:
• Focus on Munich Value Based Management (VBM) & IFRS 17 analysis, deep knowledge of processes and data lineage / systems landscape
• Point of contact for Central Reinsurance Controlling (RIC) / Reinsurance Accounting (RIA) / Central reserving / Corporate Underwriting and building relationships with these department; also closely cooperate with our local IFRS 17 department, Financial Reporting and Actuarial
• Expert / in depth knowledge of VBM P&L, including in depth knowledge of the SOLE process, Discounting adjustments, Outlier losses, Non-technical steering adjustments and Munich's risk based return on capital metrics
• Bridging CIFYR (IFRS 17) & CURe (VBM) reporting including in depth knowledge of drivers of differences
• Working with Syndicate / GSI 4 IFRS 17 teams to understand the IFRS 17 P&L structure / line items, processes, data lineage and commercial drivers of the IFRS 17 result
• Analyse GSI 4 result on multiple dimensions (class of business, result responsibility), on VBM and on IFRS 17 basis; knowledge of GSI 4 expense base & drivers
• Build out & continuously develop market & peer analysis for GSI 4 and Syndicate
• Assisting CRA departments in other areas where appropriate and deliver other ad-hoc tasks as assigned including project work and deep dive reviews
• Support Ad hoc projects / transaction support / transformation projects where required
• Help drive forward good Conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders.
