Our Client are seeking a Client Accountant to join their team. The Client Accountant will be responsible for producing accurate company accounts, tax returns and engaging proactively with limited company and self-employed customers with inbound and outbound calls dealing with general queries in line with business/personal tax procedures and statutory requirements. The successful candidate will have the desire to drive excellency in line with core values of passion, respect, teamwork, and world-class service. Key Responsibilities

  • Deal with day-to-day queries from customers in relation to cash-flow, accounts treatment, company tax advice, personal tax advice, CIS, VAT and PAYE.
  • Provide a pro-active service to customers utilising relevant information to ensure that they are constantly informed and have full visibility of all areas of their accounts.
  • Provide dynamic and proactive tax and accounting support to 250 + clients using written and phone-based communication.
  • Prepare statutory accounts - this will include preparation of accounts and supporting tax computations for customers requiring year end and cessation accounts.
  • Engage with HMRC regarding client’s business and personal tax affairs.
  • Assist in the preparation of Self-Assessment Tax returns.
  • Provide support to accounts assistants within the team.
  • Undertake ad-hoc clean-up or other projects, meeting targets set at the start of the project.
  • Suggest process improvements necessary to the role.

Experience and Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ practicing experience as a Client Accountant.(ideally)
  • Proven ability of working towards targets and KPIs.
  • Proven ability to work accurately on own initiative.
Additional Desired Experience
  • AAT Level 4 qualified
  • Be familiar with FreeAgent accounting software.
  • Have a good understanding of Making Tax Digital (MTD).
  • Strong excel skills, confident using Look Ups, Pivot Tables
