Role Summary:

The Structured Cabling Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of structured cabling projects within telecom and data center environments. This role requires a deep understanding of cabling systems, project management best practices, and strong communication skills to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for structured cabling installations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure resource availability and project alignment.

Client Liaison:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing project updates.
  • Collaborate with clients to define project requirements and specifications.

Technical Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for structured cabling systems.
  • Oversee the installation and testing of cabling systems in telecom and data center environments.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and change orders.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting milestones and any potential issues.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and ensure quality control.
  • Address any technical challenges that arise during installation, collaborating with engineering teams as needed.

Budget Management:

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
  • Track expenditures and provide regular budget updates to management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Project Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience managing structured cabling projects, particularly in telecom and data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA) and installation best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proficiency in project management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and teams.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, BICSI) are a plus.
