Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UK The Role: We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our highly committed and professional team within our Senior School. The successful applicant will work as part of the Learning Development Department in supporting and including students with learning difficulties and disabilities in mainstream classes. Working together with other school support staff, you will:
  • Develop an understanding of students' special educational needs
  • Ensure students’ access to lessons through appropriate support and materials
  • Foster independent learning and support students in developing study skills
  • Assist students in recording work and reinforcing learning
  • Model good practice and build students’ confidence and self-esteem
  • Support teaching staff in identifying students needing monitoring
  • Assist in lesson planning, preparation of materials, and differentiated activities
  • Carry out structured classroom assessments and provide feedback
  • Maintain records and evaluate students' progress
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions
Our ideal candidate: We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about education and dedicated to supporting students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a similar role and with secondary-age students
  • Experience in supporting learners with a range of specific learning difficulties
  • Good standard of education: GCSE A-C grade in English and Maths
  • Strong organisational and IT skills
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork and the ability to adapt to various situations
