Data Center Facility Engineer (M&E) - Hertfordshire The successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical and mechanical infrastructure for Data Centers (DC) in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud regions. Our technicians are operating and maintaining AWS DCs’ world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure. In addition to technical operations and maintenance, the successful candidate will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.
The successful candidate will be part of the Engineering and Facilities team and will be responsible for; and the upkeep and operation of the DC facility.
As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
- ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
o Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
o Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night)
- On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls
Hemel Hempstead, GBR - City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Broad operational knowledge and experience with and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Extensive Data Center engineering experience or Job-related experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline (to be amended based on country/region)
- Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) control systems and data collection/trending.
