Our client, an excelling freight forwarding and logistics organisation, with management of regular commercial freight logistics and specialising in providing comprehensive services for the movement of high- niche market products, are looking to recruit a talented Head of Air Freight to be based at offices in the London Heathrow area.
This is a senior management role that would suit a strong leader with proven experience of adding value and making significant changes to an air freight department to improve its profitability.

* The Head of Air Freight is responsible for the development, management, and optimization of the air freight product portfolio. Your role will involve overseeing the end-to-end process, from market analysis and product development to pricing strategy and operational execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and customer service, to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet customer expectations and contribute to the company's growth.
Monitor and manage service performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Product Development & Management:
* Develop and manage air freight products focused on general cargo, ensuring alignment with market demands and company objectives.
* Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, using this data to drive product innovation.
* Define product features, benefits, and service levels, ensuring they meet regulatory and industry standards.
Pricing & Commercial Strategy:
* Monitor financial performance of the product line, including revenue, profitability, and cost management.
Customer Relationship Management
* Act as a key point of contact for customers regarding air freight general cargo products, addressing inquiries, concerns, and service issues.
* Develop strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
* Regulatory Compliance:
* Ensure all air freight operations comply with relevant local and international regulations, including customs, security, and environmental guidelines.
* Prepare regular reports on product performance, market trends, and operational metrics.
* Analyse data to make informed decisions about product development, pricing, and operational improvements.
Unrivalled leadership and man management ability with proven experience of growing an air freight department
* Experience in Air Freight Forwarding: Minimum 10 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, specifically handling Air Freight
* Knowledge of pricing strategies and financial analysis related to logistics and supply chain management.
* CargoWise Proficiency: Familiarity with CargoWise software is advantageous.
* IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to quickly adapt to new software systems.
