We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team on a 15-month fixed-term contract basis. As a key business partner, you'll enhance success in the Lighting and Grid Business by balancing support and innovation. You'll analyse drivers of gross margin and controllable costs, strengthening the foundation for sustained success. Your role extends to providing high-profile decision support, using advanced financial modelling to guide strategic choices and ensure optimal growth. This role offers the hybrid working approach, where you will be working in the office (Westwood - Coventry or Trinity - Nottingham) 2-3 times per week. Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the Profit and Loss, Balance sheet, and Cashflow for the Lighting & Grid business.
  • Partner with the Head of Lighting and Grid, the Regional, and Site Managers to improve business performance.
  • Provide effective financial partnership to support and challenge the formulation and execution of commercial decision-making for contract tendering, pricing, and other third-party agreements.
  • Provide financial support, including business case modelling, budget tracking, and funding support.
  • Robust identification of opportunities and risks to the Lighting and Grid business.
  • Ensure correct accounting of gross margin and controllable costs, preparing accruals and prepayments as necessary, and reconciling the balance sheet, providing insights on results for improvement.
  • Ensure the effective operation of appropriate governance and controls.
  • Provide input to the planning process on the financial impacts of any planned initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in all processes, whether existing or new.
What we need from you
  • Relevant Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) - with post qualification experience.
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships at all levels, with strong orientation to supporting customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills with the ability to interpret data and information and present it in a clear and logical format.
  • The ability to consistently support decision makers and produce high quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously, initiate and deliver change.
  • An innovative approach, driving imaginative solutions to problems.
