Mechanical Building Service Design Engineer
Hybrid working, Permanent Role
We are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for a seasoned Mechanical Building Service Design Engineer to join a renowned mechanical services contractor with a track record of success. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering mechanical systems for high-end building and regeneration projects, with a focus on the residential sector.
System Design:
Develop and implement mechanical building services design solutions, focusing on:
Domestic Hot and Cold Water Systems
Comfort Cooling and Air Conditioning System
Fire Suppression and Sprinkler Systems
Plant Room Design
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly within building designs.
Consultancy:
Conducting site surveys, client meetings, offer expertise and guidance whilst managing the design project
Analysis:
Conduct detailed analyses and calculations to optimise mechanical systems' performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, to communicate technical information effectively.
Project Management:
Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of mechanical design projects.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in mechanical building services design, with expertise in the specified systems.
Chartered Member or actively working towards chartered status in a relevant engineering institution.
5+ years of experience in a client-facing/consultancy role, ensuring effective communication and understanding of client needs.
Familiarity with British building codes and standards
Project management experience is a plus.
