ASIC Design Engineer Edinburgh I am seeking a highly skilled Digital Design Engineer with strong DSP (Digital Signal Processing) experience to join a growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing power-efficient RTL designs for custom DSP blocks, contributing to the development of high-performance, low-power digital hardware for advanced communication systems and signal processing applications. Key Responsibilities Design and implement efficient RTL (VHDL/SystemVerilog) for DSP algorithms such as filters, transforms, and modulators. Collaborate with algorithm and architecture teams to translate high-level DSP models into optimized hardware implementations. Develop and refine custom digital architectures that are area- and power-efficient. Analyze and implement power- and performance-driven trade-offs in RTL design. Support verification and validation of DSP blocks, including testbench development and debugging. Interface with physical design and software teams to ensure successful integration and tape-out. Stay informed on latest trends in DSP techniques , low-power design strategies, and silicon technologies. Required Skills and Experience Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering , or a related discipline. Strong background in DSP concepts , including filter design, spectral analysis, and signal conditioning. Proven experience in RTL design using VHDL or SystemVerilog. Deep understanding of power-efficient digital design techniques . Experience in custom hardware development for DSP applications . Familiarity with fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic implementations. Experience with ASIC or FPGA design flows , including synthesis and timing closure. Understanding of communication systems and protocols is a strong advantage. Competency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl , or Tcl for automation is desirable. On offer is a competitive base salary + RSUs and the opportunity to work on cutting edge designs. You must be eligible to work in the UK and be onsite 3 days per week in the Edinburgh office.
